RETROSPECTIVE OF ERIC QUAH
ERIC QUAH is an international artist and traveller. He was born in year 1946 at Taiping, Perak. He received his early education in Penang .
Quah’s life is well documented in his canvas, characterized by a background of travels and a search for his identity against dramatic socio-cultural and political changes wherever he went. His art was enriched by his skills in incorporating elements of his Chinese roots and Malaysian cultural heritage in the context of multicultural and global environment.
Quah has held 44 solo shows in many countries. Since 1968,he has also won many international awards. His paintings are in public and private collections in USA , Canada , England , Europe, Australia , New Zealand , Japan and SE Asia .
The exhibition will be officiated by YAB Tuan Lim Guan Eng Chief Minister of Penang on Friday 11 November 2011 at 4.30 p.m. The exhibition will open for public viewing from 2nd until 30th November 2011 at the Penang State Art Gallery
